Stage 6 / OUARZAZATE – OUIRGANE – MARRAKECH (260 km – 3 ERR)

This morning, the exit from Ouarzazate to Marrakech was made by a route once reserved for 4×4 vehicles. The first special of the day, long of 13.7 km, was won by R. Meziane – Z. Chemao on Mercedes Benz 280 SL under a blue sky and bright the partial solar eclipse. With altitude, mountainous laces have quickly led the crews on the roads lined with overhanging ice and permanent snow covered mountains. E. Wiederin – A. Hoefer, on Porsche 356A, took the special head before heading to Ouirgane the point of rendezvous for lunch. This is at the restaurant La Roseraie that crews are restored to gourmet cuisine served under the arbor of beautiful flowers. With the departure time of the third and final stage of the day, the first clouds appeared threatening. Light rain turned into a downpour strong in special, forcing competitors with convertible cars complete the 11.7 km timed before covering their vehicles. The crew E. Wiederin – A. Hoefer, already winner of the second special, won again the first place in the event. Arrived in Marrakech, competitors found the sun that accompanied them from the start of the rally.
