Stage 4 / AGADIR – Agar Oudad – TAFRAOUTE (300 km – 4 ERR)

This fourth stage has started unusually on the rally: the rain has forced competitors to stop their convertible cars. [cml_media_alt id='954']_R6U2964[/cml_media_alt]Two regularity stages put the Jaguar at the honour this morning. The tests have indeed been won respectively by the crew R. CEREZO – R. CEREZO Jaguar XK 140 DHC on and JP RIVIERE – Mr. RIVIERE Jaguar MKII. For the gourmet lunch served in a tent in the desert, competitors were greeted by the famous and monumental rocks painted by the Belgian artist Jean Vérame, near the picturesque town of Tafraoute. As early as 2:15 p.m. cars were expected to do two stages on the winding roads of the Anti-Atlas. [cml_media_alt id='955']_R6U3058---copie[/cml_media_alt]Competitors efforts have been rewarded with a “Mint tea” break in the beautiful “palmeraie” of Ait Mansour. To end in beauty this day rich in events, competitors spend the night “under the stars” in the luxurious camp erected at the foot of Painted Rocks. Tomorrow, it’s the longest stage of the rally, with 500 km to connect Tafraoute in Ouarzazate. The ranking of the day: 1 : R. Cerezo – R. Cerezo (Jaguar XK140 DHC) 2 : C. Ghistelinck – L. David (Mercedes Benz coupé 3.5) 3 : D. Courtens – E. Courtens (Porsche 911 2.7) Click here to download the full rankings.
