The cover design for the MOROCCO CLASSIC 2009 wascreated by the famousMoroccanpainter Hassan EL GLAOUI, whoseworks are internationallyknown and recognised. Son of the pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, Hassan was not stereotyped by his social status. Born in 1924 amid olive groves, gardens and a magnificentview of the Atlas Mountains, hefocused on painting from an earlyage, encouraged by General Goodyear, founder of the New York Museum of Modern Art.

He went to Paris in 1950 and enrolledat the National School of Fine Arts, staginghis first exhibition at the Andrew Weill Gallery. More exhibitions followed in Paris, New York, Brussels, London and Casablanca. An El Glaoui painting is first and foremost about "atmosphere" and emotion, whetherhissubjects are horses, intimate portraits or stilllifes.
