The "MAROC CLASSIC – La Route du Coeur®" is an historic regularity event open – by invitation only to classic and prestige GT cars. Those who do not feel able to tackle the rigours of a timed regularity competition may nevertheless drive the "Classic" and will benefit from the same levels of organisation, safety and hospitality.

EVENT DETAILS

  • Dates : March 17th – 24th 2012
  • Format: one week - Starts on Sunday March 17th,, finishes on Saturday March 24th.
  • Starts from Rabat Finishes in Marrakech
  • Ovdernight halts: Fes – Bin El Ouidane - Erfoud – Ouarzazate – Agadir - Marrakech
  • Lenght: about 2.500 kilometres divided into 7 legs.
  • • Average length of each daily leg: 350 kms, with lunch halt. o Longest leg = 498 kms - Shortest leg = 148 kms
  • Road surfaces: all asphalt; no gravels.
  • • Provisional number of classification tests: 19

Regularity Tests (ERR): FSpeed will be sometimes imposed by the organisers, sometimes chosen by the crew. Any difference between the imposed or chosen average speed will be penalised at the rate of 1 point for each second. Maximum length of a regularity test will be 30 kms, average speeds between 40 & 90 kms per hour according to road conditions

TIMING EQUIPMENT

Portable measuring devices, not fixed and plugged to the car, are free (GPS, chronometers, cadencers). Onboard devices are limited to tripmasters. The orgaziners will be free to refuse any fixed device intended to associate distance with other function, as a measure of an interval between ideal and actual distance.

RETIREMENT / BACK IN RACE

Any crew which starts a leg but which, for any reason, fails to complete one or more ERR, will receive a standard penalty. They are neverthe- less allowed to re-join the event at the start of the next test or the next leg.

ELIGIBLE CARS

For the "MAROC CLASSIC": touring cars, sports cars and GT cars built be- tween 1930 and 1983. Replicas are acceptable. For the "MAROC PRESTIGE": sports cars and GT cars built since the beginning of 1984. .

INTRODUCTION TO REGULARITY (optional)

For novice crews, there will be an optional training period on the eve of the event, on March 17th in the morning at the Sofitel Rabat.

PRIZES

The winner of the "Classic" will be offered a free entry (excluding options) for the Maroc Classic 2012. The winner of the Prestige category will be offered 50% off (excluding options).

CREWS

Each must comprise one first driver and one or two co-drivers.

MAXIMUM PERMITTED NUMBER OF ENTRIES

70 cars, two thirds for the "Classic", one third for the "Prestige".

CLOSING DATES FOR ENTRIES

• with preferential fee : September 30th, 2011 • with reduced fee : November 30th, 2011 • Final closing date : February 15th, 2012
