STAGE 3 : BIN EL OUIDANE > OUARZAZATE

31st Rallye Maroc Classic 2026

Stage 3: Bin El Ouidane > Ouarzazate

Today, the third stage of the Rallye Maroc Classic offered a true journey into the heart of the High Atlas. Over 318 kilometers, crews crossed remote regions, between peaks rising above 4,000 meters, authentic villages, and breathtaking landscapes, far from the main roads. A day where consistency and precision blended with sheer wonder.

ZR10 – Opening along Lake Moulay Youssef The day began with a 124-kilometer liaison to ZR10 “Ait Addel.” Located near the Moulay Youssef dam lake, this relatively fast stage ended with a winding final kilometer and a tight hairpin, where every second counted. Lunch, organized outdoors under a Berber tent, offered an exceptional setting at the foot of the mountains, inviting participants to admire the red and green landscapes and the calm of the valleys.

ZR11 and ZR12 – Focus and technique after lunch The afternoon continued with the demanding ZR11, while ZR12 was canceled due to excessively damaged road conditions. On narrow roads exposed to erosion, precision was essential to maintain the required average speed. Notable were some very difficult sections, but also the pleasure of discovering a new panorama at every turn: picturesque villages, steep roads, and snow-capped peaks in the background.

Tizi N’Tichka Pass and road to Ouarzazate After these technical sections, the route opened onto the wider road of the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2,260 m), offering spectacular views over the High Atlas peaks. The descent toward Ouarzazate included a passage through Télouet and its famous Kasbah of Glaoui, a symbol of the power of regional lords in the 19th century.

ZR13 – Finale in the Ounila Valley The day concluded with ZR13, a long and demanding stage in the Ounila Valley. The first six kilometers passed through several villages at reduced speed, before a very winding finish with hairpins and constant acceleration zones. This stage tested the crews’ consistency and concentration right to the finish, near the majestic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a famous film location.

The stage ended in Ouarzazate, the film capital and gateway to the desert regions of southern Morocco, with an evening and overnight stay at the Berbère Palace, an iconic venue of the Rallye Maroc Classic.
