2024 – 29th Rally Maroc Classic
STAGE 4 : MERZOUGA – BIN EL OUIDANE / wednesday 6 march 2024
There is no shortage of superlatives for this 4th stage of the Maroc Classic rally: the most beautiful, the longest and the hardest too, but what a journey for the participants.
After a night in bivouac, the desert immensities of Tafilalet were proposed to begin the stage, on a very rolling route before reaching the Todra gorges, then peaking passes at an altitude of more than 2800m.
Lunch was then perched on the banks of the legendary Tislit Lake of Imilchil, in Berber land. As expected, the highlights of the Moroccan rallies of yesteryear were offered in this resolutely mountainous course which will have reshuffled the cards of the general classification in both categories.
After 460km, the finish of the stage was at Bin El Ouidane, on the banks of its azure lake bordered by ocher lands, supplying water to the numerous crops in the surrounding valleys.
The participants are now staying at the Widiane Resort for a well-deserved rest before tomorrow’s final stage which will take them to Marrakech, the end of this 29th edition, where we will celebrate the big winners after 1800km and 14 hotly contested regularity events.
