STAGE 5: AIT BENHADDOU – AIT OURIR – BIN EL OUIDANE / THURSDAY MARCH 17, 2022

While we were staying last night at Ksar Ighnda, at the entrance to the Valley of 1000 kaskahs, we had to go up it completely to reach Telouet and the Tizi N Tichka pass, a compulsory crossing point between the South and the North of the kingdom.
Two special stages were laid out during this relatively winding morning and constituted the major difficulties to be faced by the competitors vying for the final victory, in particular with the introduction of a passage control in the middle of the regularity test which did not fail to spice up the stage.
Once arrived at the Tichka pass (2160m), it was necessary to begin the descent towards the Ait Addel dam and the lunch established not far from there in Ait Ourir, in a local establishment, the Coq Hardi. It was then under a light rain that the afternoon offered a more rolling route, towards Demnate and Azilal, where two new timed races were established, never before contested in this direction since the creation of the race in 1993.
The lake of Bin El Ouidane then appeared in the distance, the azure blue of which it was possible to guess, becoming more and more piercing as we approached and marked the great return of the Morocco Classic Rally at the Widiane Suites hotel. & Spa of Bin El Ouidane, located on the shores of the lake and offering a sublime view for an evening that promises to be quite beautiful.
We will celebrate the winners of the two categories tomorrow when we arrive in Marrakech, but before that, we will have to face the two final regularity tests which will undoubtedly be able to reshuffle the cards one last time to win this 27th edition.
