Rallye Maroc Classic – La Route du Coeur
STEP 3 – Tuesday March 19, 2019 – Agadir – Tafraoute – Foum Zguid

ANTI-ATLAS AND MOROCCAN SAHARA – 4 Regularity tests

Today the competitors have left Agadir to the East, to start the longest stage of the rally, before busy hours, to Biougra and Ait Baha on a course lined with greenhouses of fruits and vegetables before reaching the ‘Anti-Atlas’ mountain range to Tafraoute . The itinerary solutions are multiple at this crossroads, and it is the course of a test of regularity having already spiced up the rally in the past which was chosen to launch this 3rd stage.

The competitors then joined a more rolling road to Tafraoute and its huge round rocks. Before lunch, the ferrari crew VERZELE & YEKNABACHI was the victim of a radiator problem and unfortunately has to leave the competition. The lunch was outside in the heart of the site of the “painted rocks” that each reached by car by a perfectly drivable track.

In the afternoon, the competitors embarked on the crossing of the desert, in a diagonal between Tafraoute and Foum Zguid, land of all 4×4 expeditions of the Kingdom. However, it was necessary to leave the Anti-Atlas to establish two other regularity tests. Technical concerns just before the specials for the crew ROCHE & RENAUDAT driving their Alpine A110.

The rest of the course was then much faster for an amazing journey of over 200km to the Moroccan desert, its desert land inhabited by countless pebbles and stones, acacia trees and palm groves that took advantage of the wide oueds to flourish.

The competitors passed by Tata to join Foum Zguid, and arrive at the bivouac in the dunes established for the night. The evening promises to be festive, around the campfire.
